Welcome to the Montessori Schools of Massachusetts (MSM)!

Welcome to Montessori Schools of Massachusetts!
 
Montessori Schools of Massachusetts is committed to providing for schools, faculty and staff, opportunities for networking, connecting and promoting Montessori Education in our area.  In addition, we run an annual conference (unless the AMS conference is in Boston), a head of school luncheon, teacher’s networking meetings and place the bi-annual state required non-discrimination ads in the newspapers.  MSM is also proud to provide generous scholarships for Montessori training for teachers.
 
We are proud to welcome the American Montessori Society’s 50th Annual Conference to Boston in March 2010.  It is our hope that many of our member schools will find ways to participate in this wonderful occasion. 
 
As sponsors of the conference this year, we are proud to present Spotlight Speaker Series at AMS.  Noted individuals from the Boston area will be speaking on Montessori and 21st Century education. It’s a great way for MSM to celebrate the 50th conference with AMS.

Mission

The mission of the Montessori Schools of Massachusetts is to promote knowledge and understanding of the Montessori methods of education in Massachusetts and to provide a framework for communication and cooperation among Montessori schools within Massachusetts and other New England states, and between these school and other private and public schools, government agencies and organizations concerned with education.

Organization

MSM was first organized in 1986 by a group of Montessori teachers and administrators interested in creating a regional Montessori network. MSM's board of Directors is a volunteer group of administrators from member schools who meet bi-monthly to plan MSM events and manage the organization. MSM hosts an annual Head of School Networking meeting each fall, which the Head of all member schools is invited to attend.
