Upper Elementary (9-12 years)


Bay Farm Montessori Academy is searching for an Upper Elementary Humanities Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. We seek a flexible, imaginative, creative teacher who can effectively plan and problem solve. The ability to understand and willingness to work with a range of learning styles is required for this position. Confident, calm and professional demeanor and a sense of humor are important characteristics. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong writing skills are required and above all, a strong respect for and love of children is essential to function effectively in this role.


Bachelor’s Degree (English, History, Elementary Education, or related field) Familiarity with Montessori or other constructivist philosophies where teachers guide and facilitate rather than lecture and instruct. (Montessori certification is preferred, but will train the right person) Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; Exceptional classroom management skills; Demonstrated professional behavior, including discretion, judgment, and integrity.


Compensation & Benefits Compensation is commensurate with experience, but is expected to be between $45,000 and $65,000 per year.
