Woodside Montessori Academy is looking for a creative, flexible art teacher to join our team of seasoned educators. The art teacher's responsibilities include sourcing art supplies, preparing lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques. You should also be able to supervise lessons to ensure that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner. Schedule is 5-6 hours/week.

Qualifications

To be successful as an art teacher, you should be able to encourage creativity and self-expression among students. - Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field. - Previous teaching experience, preferably in an elementary setting. - Strong knowledge of various art techniques, materials, and art history. - Must be independent yet have the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver an engaging and age-appropriate art curriculum for students in lower elementary (gr.1-3), upper elementary (gr. 4-6) and middle school (gr.7&8). - Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student expression and creativity. - Integrate art history, cultural awareness, and different art mediums into the curriculum. - Organize and display student artwork in school-wide events. - Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into other subject areas.
