Description
Under the general direction of the Director of Auxiliary Programs the ideal candidate will partner with faculty in providing on-call support and supervision during the school day. Substitute teachers are tasked with maintaining continuity in the assigned instructional program during the regularly scheduled teacher’s absence.
We are currently interviewing for a substitute teacher to work comfortably with Toddlers, Preschoolers, Kindergarteners, Elementary students and Middle School students. You will be working with many experienced support staff and teachers.
Qualifications
Position Responsibilities:
Follow the instructional guide and class expectations outlined in teachers’ lesson plans.
Create and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom.
Clean teaching area at the end of the day – put all equipment and materials away. If it is the usual daily practice, have students place chairs on the desks.
Perform any other tasks assigned to the absent teacher on that day (lunch, recess, etc.)
Be familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, and safety procedures.
Benefits
This is a per diem, hourly position and is not a benefit-eligible position.
